AFCAT: An examination are conduct by Indian Air Force (IAF) for the post of Commissioned Officer. All the selection process will be made through Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT). So, Interested candidates from India may participate in the examination. The said post are required in various branches of Indian Air Force.

(a) No. 15 Short Service Commission (15 SSC) Course
TECHNICAL BRANCH
(a) No. 86 Aeronautical Engineers (86 AEC) Course (Permanent Commission)
(b) No. 58 Short Service Commission (58 SSC) Course
GROUND DUTY BRANCHES
(a) No. 137 Ground Duty Officers’ (137 GDOC) Course (Permanent Commission)
(b) No. 30 Short Service Commission (30 SSC) Course

AFCAT 2014 Eligible Criteria :
Education Qualification:
For Flying branch:
Graduation (Minimum three year degree course) in any discipline minimum 60% marks and have passed Math and Physics at 10+2 level OR BE / B Tech degree (Four year course) from a recognized University with minimum 60% marks in aggregate in all papers put together.
For Technical Branch:
Aeronautical Engineer ((Electronics/ Mechanical) with a minimum of four year degree qualification from a recognized University or cleared Sections A and B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India or Graduate membership examination of the Institute of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers by actual studies. Candidates should also fulfill the essential subjects’ conditions for Aeronautical Engineer (Electronics/ Mechanical), as mentioned in official advertisement link mentioned below. Please refer the same.
Administration & Logistic Branch: Graduate Degree (Minimum three year degree course) in any discipline with a minimum of 60% marks or a Post Graduate Degree / equivalent Diploma in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks.
Accounts Branch: Graduate Degree in Commerce (B Com)(Minimum three year degree course) with a minimum of 60% marks or Post Graduate Degree in Commerce (MCom) / CA/ ICWA with a minimum of 50% marks.
Education Branch: Post Graduate Degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate of all papers put together.

AFCAT 2014 Age limit (as on 01.01.2015)
For flying branch: Minimum 19 years and maximum 23 years
For Technical Branch: Minimum 18 years and maximum 28 years
For Ground Duty Branches: Minimum 20 years, and maximum 23 years for Graduates, 25 years for Post Graduate/ LLB (5 years integrated course), 26 years for LLB (3 years course after graduation), and 27 years for M Ed/ Ph D/ CA/ ICWA.

How to apply for FACAT 2014 Notification?
Candidates may apply online through www.careerairforce.nic.in. Online registration was opened from 14 December, 2013.

– Online Registration was started from : December 14, 2013
– Online Registration for online application will close: January 12, 2014
